Lest We Forget

Langemark Cemetery - I have decided to put this at the top of the list. Mainly because in JR459 we try to give honor to those who gave their lives and sacrificed everything to their duty. Langemark Cemetery is the only Imperial German Cemetery in Belgium. There are 26,000 unkown soldiers in there and I for one would like to think that there are a couple Lippspringers from JR459 in there. On June 18th, 2003 - 26 Imperial Germans were laid to rest at Langemark this link shows the touching ceremony.

Please take the time to pay your respect to them at:

Some of Our Brother's in the GWA

The Great War Association - The GWA is our parent organization. The GWA thrives to honor the original participants of the Great War. They accomplish this by hosting 2 to 3 battle reenactments and living history programs yearly and owns the battlefield we reenact WW1 on. There are a variety of Allied and Central Powers units to choose from if your interested in joining up. If you can't find what your looking for, start your own unit. Just a little hint, the Central Powers are out numbered 2 to 1 (hint, hint). Check them out at:Http://www.great-war-assoc.org

Infanterie Regiment Nr. 459 - This is the absolutely best German living history and reenactment group on the East Coast. Yes it is our unit but why should it be someone else? This dynamic website covers everything from what the JR459 did, what we do now, how they did it and why! It even has pages on how to clean and care for your Gew98 properly. This site was designed to take the novice recruit to a full fledged member of JR459. So please enjoy your visit with us at: Http://www.ir459.org

The k.u.k 63 IR Freiherr von Pitreich - The K.u.K 63 are good friends. The Austrians fall in with us in our big assaults. Although they are a small unit they have high expectations. These are a good bunch of guys! The K.u.K 63 is our only Austro-Hungarian Unit in the GWA. So if your interested in this unique impression then by all means check out their website. Infantry Regiment Nr. 63 - 3.K/JR63 is our sister regiment in the GWA. These are a great bunch of guys and really try to do it right! They hold the right wing in our sector and do a great job of protecting our trenchlines from the BEF. Check out their website at: Http://www.ir63.org

20th MGSS -- is one of the unique central powers unit in the GWA and one that is becoming the biggest unit within the GWA. 151ème Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne - Drei Hoch! The French have made it to the internet. The 151ri is a very dedicated unit that portray the common French soldier, or "Poilu" in the Greatwar 1914 to 1918. These guys really care about those little details that make the "Poilu" simply come to life. if your interested in a great impression then take a look at their site: http://www.reenactor.net/units/151ri

8th Battalion Chasseurs A Pied - The Chasseurs are simply a class act! If your looking for a real cool impression then this is it. These guys portray French Light Infantry from 1917 to 1918. They have some good information on their website and some cool militaria for sale. Check them out at: http://8bcp.tripod.com

Steady the Buffs - Here's a great unit that is hard to follow. These guys really care about their impressions and play "the game" fair too. This is an unit we can highly recommend. If your interested in a BEF regiment that did more than there fair share on the Western Front. Then please check them out at: Http://www.geocities.com/ww1buffs/Main1.html

The Irish Guards - Heres another great bunch of guys to fight against and to drink a pint or two with (maybe three). They have a top notched unit and are highly recommended! They have great sportsmanship and in this hobby that says something about them. Check them out at:Http://www.irishguards.net

109th Infantry, 28th Division - The 109th is a great bunch of guys and have a pretty good impression. We enjoy fighting against them and since they are directly across from us in the AEF sector; we see them frequently. Check out their new website. It is very dynamic: http://www.irondivision.org

O'Ryan's Roughnecks - The 107th is another cool AEF unit in the GWA. They have a pretty good impression and are damn fun to fight against. They are primarily located in New Jersy and New York.
