5. Standards for Required Equipment Items:

V. KOPPEL u. KOPPELSCHLOß (Belt and Buckle)

1. Belt must be constructed of natural, brown, rough side out.

2. Belt Plate of tombak with a silvered central cartouche; or of steel or other non-ferrous metal.

3. Tombak plates may be worn in natural finish, or painted grey, field grey, or brown.

4. Belt Plates made of non-ferrous metals will be painted.

VI. PATRONENTASCHEN (Cartridge Pouches)

1. Constructed of brown or black leather; smooth or pebbled finish.

2. Three individual compartments per pouch; two pouches required.

3. Compartment dimensions ca. 3 in. (width), 2.25 in. (depth), 3.75 in. (height).

4. A cloth ammunition bandolier may be substituted for the ammunition pouches; this item does not, however, fulfill the kit requirements for membership.

5. Ammunition bandolier may also be worn with ammo pouches.

VII. SCHANZZEUG u. FUTTERAL (Spade and Carrier)


Shovel carrier with shovel.

1. "Linneman" pattern spade with rectangular head and fixed wooden handle (the latter ending in a ball finial).

2. Spade head must be riveted to the handle.

3. Carrier with either one central or two individual belt loops. Carrier will be of natural, brown, or black leather, smooth side out.
